Further blurring the boundaries between Mollywood and Kollywood, National Award-winning director Vetri Maaran is gearing up to adapt a novel based on the current scenario of the Malayalam film industry. Vetri, who was present at the recently-concluded film festival in Kerala, said he was interested in adapting Mollywood director Sohanlal’s novel Limelight for a Tamil movie.
“It’s one of those stories that is sure to be a commercial hit,” opines Vetri, who is already in talks with
Sohanlal to bring out the project after his Vada Chennai.
Sohanlal, who had given an English narration to Vetri, has already begun work on translating the book to Tamil. “It tells the story of a film producer and hence, can be placed in the backdrop of any film industry,” he informs.
