Jiiva, whose market value has soared to dizzying heights with the success of Ko, seems to have put his upcoming film Vandhaan Vendraan (VV), opposite Taapsee, on the backburner. Months ago, the media was replete with promotions of the film, and plans were on to release the film by the end of June. But there was an unexplained delay in the shooting and promotions are completely off the media, and the entire team has become reclusive. The reason for this is attributed to that fact that the actor doesn’t want VV to mar the promotions and release of his film Rowthiram, opposite Shriya.
The film, produced by the actor’s father R B Choudary, is directed by debutant Gokul. Cashing in on Jiiva's popularity post Ko, the makers of Rowthiram are on a full throttle, promoting the film and are looking at releasing it soon.
They have even reshot certain portions of the film to make it much more appealing. Until then, there is a silent deal between the makers of VV and Rowthiram that the VV team will not release or promote their film!
A source reveals, “Jiiva does not want both his films to clash at the box office. The audio release of VV was to happen on June 10. But it was postponed due to this reason and also because of the fact that Jiiva has no dates to attend the audio launch of his own film. The team is hoping to release the audio some time in July.”
The source also reveals that VV’s director Kannan is not happy with this development, but has no other choice. The director is now busy shooting in Mumbai and remained unavailable for comment. Jiiva, meanwhile, has signed on Mugamoodi with Mysskin and an untitled venture with Gautham Menon.
