V-day plans of celebs
Love is in the air and loved-up tummies are already rumbling in anticipation! TOI talks to celebrities and asks them what their favourite aphrodisiac is and what they’d cook for their someone special on Valentine’s Day
Dr Priya Selvaraj, Doctor:
Chocolate is the best! And considering my current fetish for warm/ molten chocolate, I would probably bake an eggless wonder, topped with flowing chocolate and not to forget, sweet strawberries and honey as accompaniments.

Chocolate, strawberries and honey are all proven energisers and anything that is a stimulant is an aphrodisiac too! Besides, they are time-tested and proven as great love foods and are healthy to boot.
Preetika Rao, Actress:
For me, the most romantic food has to be the giant puffball mushroom, also known as calvatia. This mushroom is as big as a plate and its fleshy nature allows it to absorb all the various flavours. It is one dish that absolutely turns me on! For my part, if I had to cook for my loved one, I would go with my specialty, Lucknowi biryani with marinated soya nuggets... a great replacement for meat.
Srikanth, Actor:
Anything with an Italian or French touch works instant magic in creating a romantic mood. And complemented with wine, another great aphrodisiac, the experience is further enhanced. I am not good in the kitchen but if there’s one dream dish I’d like to cook for my wife on Valentine’s Day, it would be authentic caramel nutella crepes. I have fond memories of running around the streets of France with my wife, on our first visit there, on the lookout for these yummy crepes.

Pooja, VJ:
No prices for guessing; chocolate has got to be the best aphrodisiac there is. Everyone loves it and you just can’t go wrong with it. As for what I’d cook for my husband Craig on V-Day, I’d go with authentic Anglo-Indian cuisine. For a very special, romantic meal, I would love to prepare coconut rice and chicken meatballs. Craig is crazy about Anglo-Indian cuisine and obviously the best way to impress him would be by doling out some authentic fare.
