Thilakan regrets not acting in Dam999

Character actor and controversy king Thilakan was the initial choice for Rajat Kapoor's role in Hollywood project Dam999 but the actor was unable to take up the offer as a ban was imposed on him at that point of time by film association AMMA.
The film's director Sohan Roy was particular that only Thilakan should play the role and waited for a whole week, hoping the ban would be lifted.However, it continued and Sohan Roy was forced to replace the actor with Hindi actor Rajit Kapoor. Both of them still enjoy a strong friendship and Sohan Roy had invited Thilakan as the chief guest for the press meet of Dam999.
"I was completely helpless; if there was any chance, I would have insisted on Thilakan doing the role," said Sohan Roy. Thilakan said that he was honoured to be invited to be part of such a socially relevant movie as Dam999 and assured Sohan Roy of his whole-hearted cooperation for all his future ventures. "If an actor has real talent no film association or person can stop him. He will come up sooner or later," he said.
