One factor that sets apart the Subramaniapuram team from the rest in Kollywood is the camaraderie they share with each other off the sets. At a function held recently, James Vasanthan, the music composer of the film, shared an interesting anecdote. The team had gone to Dubai for an event held to honour their film. When they were having dinner, Sasikumar (who was James Vasanthans student at school) informed the group that he would get them the dessert.
The teacher in James Vasanthan immediately took over and he quizzed his pupil if he knows the spelling of dessert. Caught unawares, Sasikumar fumbled and after much deliberation with the rest of the team, spelt it out as desert. To correct them, James Vasanthan asked them to add one more s to the word. On seeing the blank look of his team mates even after that, he asked them what their problem was. You told us to add a s. But, you did not tell us where to add it in the word, they shot back, much to the composers amusement. Sasikumar explained their ignorance in his unique style by saying, We are primarily Tamilians. So it is ok. Now, thats what we call a good sport!
