Sandalwood will soon witness the first professionally done making video with Yograj Bhats upcoming filmSandalwood is going the Bollywood way. Popularised by Aamir Khan who marketed Lagaan along with a DVD of its making, the trend has caught up in Gandhinagar too. And namma Yograj Bhat has introduced this concept in his latest directorial, Manasaare.
Pawan and Priya, two theatre enthusiasts, are currently shooting the making of Manasaare; the duo is accompanying the cast and crew of the film across all locations, catching moments both on the sets and off it.
So, not only are the serious moments of acting captured, even the masti that happens on the sets is caught live on camera, says the films lead heroine, Aindrita Ray. Sometimes, we snooze during the break that we get between shots, and even thats taped on camera! Weve been having a lot of fun because all our takes, retakes and bloopers have been shot by Pawan, she says.Diganth, the films hero, adds that the cameras follow them even after shooting wraps up. The other day, we played cricket at a jail we were shooting in. And Yograj sir and Suri sir also joined us. It was so much fun and all their antics were taped. We also celebrated Suris birthday here and even thats been captured, says Diganth. Its not just candid moments; complex and awe-inspiring shots in the film have also been pictured in the making series. They mounted the handycam on an 80-foot-high crane and have taped those scenes, adds Diganth. For Yograj Bhat, the making video is a document of all the memorable moments while directing Manasaare. I tried something similar in Mungaru Male and Gaalipata, but we lost both footages. So, this time, we got professionals to do it, says YB. The director tells us that the making video, in addition to being used to promote the film, will be made into a DVD. The audience will love it, vouches the director.
