I’m thrilled at the thought of casting my vote for thefirst time. So far, I’ve seen elders doing the same and I’m secretlyenjoying the fact that I’ll not be a tag along anymore. I’mcompletely clued into the current political system and have made up my mind onwho to vote for.
As a child, I would wait for D-Day, when I couldaccompany my parents to the polling booth. It was sacrosanct as much for myparents, as for me. I would even go around asking people who they were castingtheir votes for, but would never get an answer. This time around, I’m notgoing to ask questions. It’s my time to answer.
Political Science was one of my fave subjects in highschool and I would leaf through the pages of my textbook over and over again tounderstand the democratic process. I’m thrilled at the thought of my turnat the polling booth. That I matter in the larger scheme of things, like everyother Indian, gives me a kick.
As a youngster, I would accompany my parents to the pollingbooth and come home coaxing and cajoling them to replicate the hint of ink on myfinger. They had to oblige as I would more often than not threaten to skip ameal. Now, I don’t need to persuade anyone, I’m getting my share ofthe indelible ink as part of my democratic right. Needless to say, I’msuperexcited!
I've read so much about the constitutional rights in socialsciences and had to wait all along for my tryst with the same.
I'm excited thatnow, I'll be considered a part of the grown-up bracket, which so far was astrict no-no. I'm going to flaunt the ink to one andall.
Youth has a major role to play in today's democracy. And I feel strongly about it. Every vote counts and it's in our hands to selectthe right candidate. A mistake at this hour will cost us five years. It’simportant to know about the issues that are dealt with and cast one’s voteintelligently.
I believe in a certain ideology and am not going to getcarried away easily. So opinionated am I that I do not pay heed to anysuggestion when it comes to casting my vote. I believe in a certain ideology andthat will get reflected in the
ballotbox.
I’m thrilled about exercising my democratic right. And, I’m not getting influenced by anyone, including my friends andfamily. I’m opinionated enough to choose the right ballot button.I’ve a socialist-based ideology and am going to do, what I feel is right.
