Actress Surabhi Prabhu who made her debut with the recently released “Ila Ayithe Ela”, has turned an item girl, for a Kannada film “Appayya”. The actress says she did the item number for a special reason. “My father hails from Coorg and Kannada happens to be my mother tongue. The item number gave me a chance to star in a Kannada film so I took up the offer.
Besides, it also required me to lend my voice to the song. It gave me the opportunity to sing in Kannada. I am not conversant in Kannada and my dad always makes fun of it. I did not want to let such an opportunity go by, so I took it up,” says Surabhi. S Narayan is directing the flick starring Sringara Kitty in the lead.
Surabhi admits it was quite a task to get her diction right for the song. “I found it very difficult to get a hang of the lyrics. But I managed eventually, after lot of practice,” says Surabhi adding that she found picking up the Telugu language much easier than Kannada.
The actress says she has a couple of interesting Tollywood projects lined up. “I am afraid I cannot reveal any details about the films. As soon as I sign on the dotted line, I will make a formal announcement,” says Surabhi signing off.
