Oriya actress Barsha Priyadarshini recalls her Sundays during her childhood...Gone are the days When I was a child, my papa used to take care of my Sundays. My sisters, Debjani and Banani, and I were not allowed to do anything until and unless he treated us to a lavish breakfast. On evenings, he used to take us to the Gaurishankar Park where we would pamper ourselves silly by having Raghu Dahi Bada.
After returning home, the five of us including our mom, watched movies on the video. Papa also gave us so many chocolates on Sundays that we sisters termed it as our “Chocolate Rain Day.”
Present tense Presently, my life doesn’t have any special Sunday. It’s just schedule, schedule and more schedule for me. Sometimes, I miss my childhood days so much that I feel like crying. So, in the middle of a grueling schedule when I feel absolutely miserable, I close my eyes and try to relive those carefree days.
Wish I could My idea of a perfect Sunday is if I can take an impromptu break and go to Nainital. I wish, I could open my eyes and find myself in the mountains. I’ll obviously take my family with me along with my best friend,
Soma Chakraborty. We’ll do loads of shopping all day. Nainital is famous for yummy cherries and beautiful candles. I’ll make sure to get all these goodies for myself. Even as I speak, I yearn to have this dream turned into reality.
