Shooting among the naxals
Heres the latest goss on the Krishna- Vijayalakshmi starrer Katradhu Kalavu.
The unit canned a song in the Papikonda Island near Rajamundry. But, whats more interesting is that this island is frequented by Naxalites.
Says a source close to the unit, Papikonda is a beautiful island, surrounded by lush green mountains. It took us about an hour-and-a-half to reach the island from Rajamundry, in three boats.

We were aware of the danger we might face if spotted by the Naxalites. But, there was something else we werent expecting...
He continues, Director Balaji was adamant about shooting a song, Indha Vaanam Indha Bhoomi... on the island. So, we shot the song, choreographed by Senthamarai-Suresh, on the lead pair and 15 kids, for four whole days. However, it started raining while we were filming. And thats when we were told that when it rains heavily, the island usually gets flooded. We were struck with fear we had to save the costly sets and props that were erected in the island and we also had to return home safely. But the rain thankfully stopped in some time. The song has also come out beautifully. Well, alls well that ends well.
