After the huge success of Wanted and Bodyguard in Bollywood, Salman Khan seems to be becoming a favourite among directors planning more Hindi remakes of south films. Buzz is that director
Priyadarshan, who caught up with Salman at the inauguration of the celebrity cricket tournament, is currently in talks with the superstar to cast him in Mohanlal’s role in the Bollywood remake of Oru Marubhoomi Katha.
A source close to the ace director, says, “Nothing is finalized. We’re still talking about the dates. There is also a plan to rope in
Akshay Kumar if the deal doesn’t with Salman come through.” If either Akshay or Salman do land the role, it wouldn’t be the first time that both will take on roles played by Mohanlal in the original. Akshay had stepped into the megastar’s shoes for Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Garam Masala, remakes of Manichitrathazhu and Boeing Boeing respectively, while Salman did Kyon Ki, which was the remake of Thalavattom.
The source also informs us that the project will begin only by September this year, so the rest of the cast will be decided later. However,
Shakti Kapoor and Lakshmi Rai are being considered to reprise their roles from the original.
