With Team Hyderabad registering a victory over Team Pune at the Barabati stadium on Tuesday, fans literally went berserk with joy. Cheerleaders, of course, left no stone unturned in celebrating the victory. Odia actor and Team Hyderabad brand ambassador
Sabyasachi Mishra was in a jubilant mood, especially since it was twice in a row that his team had defeated
Sourav Ganguly’s boys.
“I am extremely happy that we won the battle in this historic ground. This is a very special moment for all of us since my team had won the match in my state. My prayers were answered and the team was on a huge high on Wednesday night,” said a thrilled Sabyasachi.
However, Team Pune skipper Sourav Ganguly seemed a bit frustrated over his side’s performance. His loyal fans might have been disappointed though they were thrilled to see Dada play in Cuttack.
But what actually upped the entertainment quotient was the glam factor. If the cheerleaders were sexy, the wives and girlfriends of the phirang players were equally hot and happening. While some cheerleaders chose to go Indian, the ones in Western attire grabbed a lot of eyeballs.
Pradosh Mohapatra, a final year student of Ravenshaw University, had no qualms admitting that more than cricket, it was the glam quotient that attracted him. “I didn’t have much interest in cricket but my incentive was to see these sexy girls cheer for the cricketers. I just couldn’t stop myself from coming here. Honestly speaking, the cheerleaders were more entertaining than the match!”
Well, that’s quite a confession we must admist.
