Here’s news that’s bound to make the hearts of all Kollywood’s fans swell with pride.
After winning him hearts all over the country, the spellbinding work of ace cinematographer Ravi K Chandran has earned him the appreciation of the international community as well.
Shah Rukh Khan’s My Name is Khan, for which Ravi was the cameraman, has now been chosen for the main competition at the coveted Plus Camerimage, an international film festival of the art of cinematography.

Interestingly, Ravi, who has worked with the who’s who of both Bollywood and Kollywood including Mani Ratnam, Karan Johar, Rakesh Roshan, Aditya Chopra, Farhan Akhthar, Shankar, Priyadarshan, A R Murugadoss, Rajiv Menon and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is said to be the first Indian cinematographer whose work has been chosen to compete for the coveted award.
The prestigious festival is being held in Bydgozscs in Poland between November 27 and December 4.Ravi, who is currently shooting A R Murugadoss’s 7am Arivu and Karan Johar’s Agneepath, starring Hrithik Roshan, has several hits to his credit including Kandukondein Kandukondein, Boys, Aayitha Ezhuthu, Kannathil Muthamittal, Dil Chahtha Hai, Black, Paheli, Virasat, Fanaa, Sawariyaa, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Anjaana Anjani.
