This desire of Sandalwood’s former top actress, Rakshitha, may soon become a reality...
Rakshitha: I’m interested in a comeback
The Crazy Queen, as fans had christened her at the peak of her career a couple of years ago, may not be currently enthralling movie-goers.
But Rakshitha, who gave up a thriving career in films when she tied the knot with director-actor Prem three-and-a-half years ago, may soon be back. The buzz is that the glam mom of the one-year-old Surya and soon-to-be producer, may be making a comeback.
1x1 polls
Industry insiders tell BT the actress is flooded with acting offers and she may be contemplating a return to films. Apparently, shell even put in an act in her hubbys much-hyped directorial, Jogayya.
When we spoke to Rakshitha, she confirmed that shes being approached by many producers to star in their projects. Ive also got scripts from various directors and Ive liked a couple of them. I havent zeroed in on anything, but once Ive decided something, talks will begin, confesses Rakshitha. Shes also receiving calls from various local channels to host talk shows. They want me to anchor shows like Tere Mere Beach Mein and other such entertainment-oriented programmes, she says. While Rakshitha earlier made an appearance in Prems Preethi Yeke Bhoomi Melide, she never considered taking up a full-fledged film. Im interested in a comeback; when I find a script I cant resist saying yes to, Ill take it up, says Rakshitha.
What kind of stories are coming her way? Im getting lots of substantial roles. Some are offbeat, others are heroine-oriented tales. I want roles that suit my status as a wife and mother. And Prems support means the most, she confesses. As for her act in Jogayya, the actress hands over the phone to hubby dear. Now thats a surprise, wait and watch, he laughs.
