UP girl Piaa Bajpai’s life is similar to a fairy-tale. It’s the story of a small-town village girl, who left the comforts of her home to a more sophisticated city to make her dream come true. After years of hard-work, she finally makes it big in tinsel town. This curly beauty of Kollywood is making her Mollywood debut through
Johny Antony’s Masters. In Masters, she shares the screen space along with
Prithviraj and Kollywood prodigy Sasikumar.
“Unlike my earlier movies, I play a very different role here. You will see an intense, different Piaa,” shares the actress. For someone who has done only bubbly characters, Masters was a bold step. Though initially dubious, she found it easy to carry the role. “It came naturally for me,” adds the bindass girl.
Hardly six movies old, Piaa has already learned to survive in the world of grease paints. “I don’t pretend to be someone else. I live my life as Piaa. This is me!” tells the chirpy actor. The actress who loves fashion and style is a die-hard fan of colours. She is all praise for Satish, her designer for Masters, whom she remarks “has a good collection.”
Travelling through Kerala, she was surprised to know that the crowd recognises her. “Most of them have watched Ko and they remembered Saro. It’s a good feel for me,” she shares.
Piaa is waiting for something bigger or something similar like Ko in Kollywood. “I want to do something experimental. I am not someone who rushes to sign movies. I might do only one movie a year, yet I see to it that it increases my credibility as an actor.”
When it comes to choosing a script, she prefers to listen to her heart. Also, she doesn’t fail to consult her mentor, director Vijay, who gave her a platform in tinsel town. “I have blind faith in him.”
