He was hospitalized for quite sometime and he passed away earlier today.
Born on December 12, 1945 in Kaikaluru, Krishna Dist, Nutan Prasad’s birthname was Vara Prasad. However, when he made his debut in films in Andala Ramudu starring Akkineni Nageshwara Rao in the year 1973, he changed his screen name to Nutan Prasad. His popular slowly rose over the next few years with films like Needaleni Aadadi, Muthyala Muggu, Rajadhiraju, Patnam Vachina Pativratalu, Khaidi, Magamaharaju, Srivariki premalekha, Kathanyakud, Aha Naa Pellanta.

In 1984, the state government honoured him with a Nandi Award for Best Actor in a supporting role for the film Sundari Subbarao. Some of his popular catchphrases like – Desham Chaala Klishta Paristhithulo Undhi, are still famous.
He had acted with two generations of actors including NTR, Krishna, ANR, Chiranjeevi, Rajendra Prasad as a comedian, villain and other character roles. However, a freak accident on the sets of Bhamma Maata Bangaru Maata in 1989, almost ended his career. The accident broke his back and left him paralyzed below the waist. But his determination to act brought him back to limelight and he was later seen in films like Abbayi Gaaru and he continued to act in few more films on a wheel chair. His demise comes as a rude shock to the entire film industry. May his soul rest in peace.
