Mugdha Godse, who made her entry on the silver screen with Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion, is set to debut in Kollywood now. The former model is said to be in talks with Prakash Raj to star in his directorial venture — Dhoni. Word is that she will play Prakash’s love interest in the film. Though Mugdha refused to comment, a source close to her confirms, “She was approached by Prakash Raj’s team to play an important role in the film. She is kicked about her character and the scope it gives her to perform. But she still hasn’t signed the deal.” Interestingly, Mugdha is a close friend of Prakash’s wife Pony Verma.
Prakash Raj, who has earlier directed Naanu Nanna Kanasu in Kannada (remake of his Abhiyum Naanum), is debuting as a director in Tamil and Telugu with Dhoni. The film is reportedly about a little boy who dreams of becoming a cricketer like Dhoni and outlines the pressure that children today face in the competitive world. While Ilaiyaraaja will compose the tunes, camera will be handled by Prakash’s favourite M S Guhan.
