Her Tamil flick Devadasiyin Kadhai hit screens last week and actress Monica Bedi seems to be looking to the future with renewed hope.
The actress, who was a part of movies like Jaanam Samjha Karo and Jodi No. 1 in the past before getting embroiled in a series of legal tussles for her alleged involvement with the notorious Abu Salem, and even served a jail sentence, is all set for another long innings on the big screen.

So, what if her films are in different languages? Her next, we understand, is going to be a Nepali film titled Parichay. Says Monica, “I play this woman who is very ambitious and has different shades to her character. I feel the film will do well because it has got a wonderful script. While I have done a few big reality shows in the recent past, I did miss acting, which is my passion, a lot. It was fun doing a movie after so long.”
But why a Nepali movie? She says, “The roles offered to me in Hindi and south Indian films weren’t appealing. But having done Hindi films and a lot of regional films in the past, I am open to good offers. I admire the industry down south because they are really punctual and systematic, and would love to do more films.”
