Koneenica Banerjee's bold move

Item numbers — and in Bengali — weren’t too common even a few years back.
So when Koneenica Banerjee shot one for Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s film “Hello Memshaheb” in 2009, it was quite a bold step, the actor feels now, looking back.
“When Shibuda approached me for the item number — De de de na re, ne ne ne na re — I was hesitant at first. Then I heard the Bhoomi song and got to know how it would be picturized and finally gave my nod.
Debu, who has choreographed the song, has done a brilliant job. The dance steps don’t look vulgar anywhere. I still remember we shot this song in a fish market in Moulali and people were going berserk,” laughed Koneenica.
The actor who shared the screen with Jeet for the first time in this song can’t stop praising him. “Jeet was extremely co-operative when we shot. Kanchan was also there in the sequence and we had a blast,” said the actor.
