Kollywood heartthrob Karthi is exploring green pastures. With Telugu dubbed Tamil hits like 'Awara' (Paiya), 'Yuganiki Okadu' (Aayirathil Oruvan) and 'Naa Peru Shiva' (Naan Mahaan Alla), he has become a favourite in Tollywood.
I really want to do a Telugu movie. I am meeting a lot of directors regarding this,” explains the actor. However, he makes it clear that he will take up a project only if he is comfortable with it.
Karthi further slams rumours that he is entering Mollywood. “No, not at all,” explains the actor who says that he is not comfortable with the language. “I don’t know the language and I’m not comfortable with it.” So, is that a ‘no’ to Mollywood forever? “It depends on the script. If I find the script exciting then I will take it up,” he says. “I have been talking to a few Malayalam directors but it was all for their movies in Tamil and not in Malayalam,” clarifies the actor.
Karthi is currently busy with Shaguni by debutant director N Shankardayal. Pranitha plays his love interest in this social satire. “It’s about a man’s journey in life,” he says. The actor seems to be comfortable working with debutant directors now. “Yes, earlier I was scared of the idea. But now I have become comfortable with it,” he explains.
