It’s raining awards

It’s that time of the year in the industry when artists and technicians are honoured with awards and felicitations to encourage them.
The recent one to honour the celebrities was a fans’ association, which gave away awards to the best in Kollywood and Tollywood. Small screen actors were also recognized for their performances. While Vitharth, Amala Paul and Anjali bagged the Best Actor awards for Mynaa and Angadi Theru respectively, Amresh Ganesh, son of Jayachitra, received an award for Best Supporting Actor for his Naane Ennul Illai.Sarguanam, Vijay and Vasantha Balan received the Best Director award for Kalavani, Madrassapattinam and Angadi Theru. Among the others to receive an award were Prabhu Solomon, Seenu Ramasamy, Thambi Ramaiah, Rahul Nambiar, Janaki Iyer and cinematographer Mathi.
Yesteryear actress Anjali Devi received the Lifetime Achievement award and K Balachander was awarded the Diamond Jubilee award from the association.
