Popular South Indian actor Nasser is revisiting Mollywood. And this time, not for the tried and tested negative role, but in a comic avatar. In Ali Akbar's Ideal Couple, Nasser will be attempting comedy for the first time in Mollywood. The movie will see him playing the role of singer-actor Usha Uthup's husband. "It's a full on comedy film with a hilarious storyline," shares the actor.Nasser is full prise for his co-star Usha Uthup, whom he finds to be spontaneous.
"She kept the whole unit lively with her wits," he recollects. "People rarely see me in a comic avatar. The kind of roles that usually come my way often has a serious tone to it. That was strange because it was never a conscious decision not to stay away from comedy," says Nasser, adding, "I would like to experiment with roles."
He also assures that if he gets similar roles in future, he will definitely take it up. "I would love to continue doing comedy because it keeps you feeling fresh and light. Also, I am not a 100 per cent comedian," admits Nasser. The actor will also be dubbing for the first time for a Malayalam movie. He is confident that he can deliver a perfect rendition.The versatile actor is all praise for the young generation. "I find the younger actors extremely hard working. Whatever the character is, they work hard to present it perfectly. There's also the fact that I feel rather young myself when I work with them," says the 53-year-old.
