Film industry is safe for women: Samvrutha Sunil
Samvrutha Sunil says she has never had a single unpleasant experience in her seven years in the film industry.
Actor Samvrutha Sunil feels that it is a misconception that the film industry is unsafe as far as actresses are concerned. “Is there any other field where your parents can accompany you to your workplace?” she asks. “On the sets, there are a hundred of people to speak for you, who will jump at anyone who tries to misbehave with you,” she says.

She also feels that it also depends on how you conduct yourself and the kind of characters and movies you choose. People will behave accordingly, she says. The actor adds that she has never had a single unpleasant experience in the last seven years when she has worked in the Malayalam film industry.
Her career has only positively affected her personality, she says. “I was a shy person who hated to talk to a stranger. Now I have absolutely no such problem. When I’m not shooting for a film, there will be some other public event.”
For Samvrutha everyone in the industry is a friend, although she is not the kind who calls people on a daily basis. “Ann Augustine, Meera Jasmine and many others are good friends of mine,” says Samvrutha whose Swapnasanchari, where she is paired opposite Jayaram, has already hit the theatres. She has a much coveted Shyamaprasad film coming up, Arike, the shooting of which has already started in Kozhikode.
“As long as I get strong, female oriented and performance oriented roles, I’m happy. I want nothing more,” she signs off.
