Ollywood, as we all know, is a completely male-dominated industry. The storylines of most of the films mainly centre around the hero and how he fights the evils of the society. But, with the release of Bad Girl, the Odia audience (especially the girls) gets the opportunity to watch a female actor doing the action sequences generally reserved for the heroes.
On the day of the film’s premiere,TOI caught up with the girl-of-the-moment, Lipi, who said, “For the first time in my career, my character is a very strong woman. During the shooting, I had to fire a gun, ride a bike and do many action sequences. It was an amazing experience for me.”
Director Jay Prakash Mohanty, who was also there at the premiere, said Lipi’s character is loosely based on Milla Jovovich’s character from the the film, Ultraviolet. “If the Odia audience accepts this female-oriented movie, I have a plan to direct a sequel,” he shared.
Dipan and Gaurav, the two male leads of the film, were also spotted at the event.
