Fast & furious Jiva!
They say anger, when expressed to the right person, at the right time, to the right extent and for the right reasons, is acceptable.
And it is this fact that director Gokul seeks to emphasise with his first film titled Rowthiram, the stills and story of which already seem to have caught the attention of those in the industry circles.
Says the director, whose film features Jiiva and Shriya Saran in the lead, “Simply put, my film Rowthiram is about how anger is necessary on certain occasions.”
The emphatic manner in which Gokul states his opinions leaves no scope for any doubt about his faith in his story.

Clearly, the man seems to have absolute confidence in his script, which, he discloses, has been inspired by two real-life incidents.
Says Gokul, “The first incident involved an auto driver, who had sustained serious injuries in an accident. He was lying in a pool of blood, fighting for his life. There were scores of people around him but nobody was willing to help. I found him almost 10 minutes after the accident but even then, nobody had helped him. I rushed him to the nearest hospital, only to be told that he had passed away. Doctors told me that had we brought him a little earlier, they may have been able to save his life.”

The other incident, he states, happened around six years back. “A boy and a girl were talking to each other in Vadapalani. Before anybody knew what was happening, the girl was kidnapped in a vehicle, right before my eyes. We called the cops but then, nothing happened. It is these two incidents that have served as an inspiration for my script. I felt anger at the lack of social responsibility. After all, we are a nation whose people will discuss a six hit by Dhoni for an hour but will not worry about a neighbour’s problem for even two minutes.”
The movie has already earned the admiration of certain people in the industry for the manner in which it is shaping up. And Jiiva, whose career graph seems to be soaring after the success of Ko, is being looked at as someone who has another winner in his kitty.
Signs off Gokul, “Jiiva has a lot more potential than what he has displayed so far. In my film, you will see him exhibit subtle expressions, which are bound to add value. Both Shriya and Jiiva have done a great job in Rowthiram, which I’m sure will do well at the BO.”
