Engaeyum Eppodhum: A different equation!

Jai and Anjali are looking forward to their next release Engaeyum Eppodhum which seems to have created quite a buzz.
While most actresses who are only a few films old worry about being stereotyped in the mould of the characters they debuted in, Anjali (of Angaadi Theru and Katradu Tamizh fame) is an actress who chose to further experiment with characters in the same vein. As she explains her character in Engaeyum Eppodhum, Anjali says, “Manimegalai in this film does have shades similar to my previous characters, Kani or even Anandhi, but she’s bolder and bigger. I play a nurse from Trichy who believes in being straightforward and has a completely tomboyish outlook.”
In fact, director A R Murugadoss, who’s producing the film, noticed Anjali’s performance and spoke with director M Saravanan. “Saravanan sir knew this was a character I could do justice to and that’s how the film happened,” she says. On her co-star Jai, who plays her love interest in this tale of two parallel love stories, Anjali says that he was a charm to work with. “He’s fun to be around with on the sets. The characters we play share a very different equation, and that’ll be something to watch out for.”
Jai describes the film as ‘one with a message’. “There’s a message that’s much needed considering the times we live it. But, the director has been careful that it’s not given in an overdose,” he says.
The climax, according to him, will be the highlight of the film. “We shot for about 14 days. Seven cameras were used in three of those days. I can confidently state that that Tamil cinema has not seen such a touching climax. After Subramaniapuram, this is the climax that I think will strike a chord with audiences.”
Hollywood giant Fox Star Studios and A R Murugadoss’ Engaeyum Eppodhum is all set to release on September 16 and going by the talk surrounding the film, this one sure looks like a blockbuster. Starring Jai, Anjali, Ananya and Sharvanand along with many others, the film is being showered with praises by everyone who have been lucky enough to have a sneak peek.
