Unlike in Bollywood where the all-too-familiar love-hate relationships of Ranbir-Deepika, Saif-Kareena, Salman-Katrina alternately progress and collapse publicly, Tollywood’s love stories have a hush-hush quality.
Well we have Mahesh Babu and Namrata to prove the point, not to forget Pawan Kalyan and Renu Desai! Now the latest hot jodi being whispered about in T-town are none other than Kajal Agarwal and Prabhas.
If sources from the film industry are to be believed, cupid struck about a year ago. In fact Prabhas insisted that Kajal and Kajal alone be his heroine in “Mr Perfect”. Ironically, (our source says) love blossomed on the sets of “Darling” which released last year. Reportedly, Prabhas who has been in short-term relationships with many a co-star, was ‘naturally’ inclined to Kajal and things got serious. Because, as a friend of the star candidly puts it, “Prabhas is usually in love with all his heroines.” But this pattern not withstanding, it is reported that Kajal went abroad to shoot for ‘Mr Perfect’ alone — unaccompanied by her mother. This is what a small-time actor who is in the know of the relationship has to say, “I shot with them for sometime and I can clearly sense there’s something up. Apparently, Kajal is possessive about Prabhas and he follows her diktats. A popular director also confirms the news. “Prabhas likes Kajal and plans to let his family know shortly. His mother has been insisting he get married soon.
Kajal however rubbishes these rumours as bizarre. Her repeated pairing with Prabhas, she attributes to their onscreen chemistry, insisting she is not in a relationship with anyone right now. To corroborate, Kajal points to another of her repeat pairings saying, I am co-starring with Ram Charan Tej again. The audience liked our onscreen jodi and so we are paired for a second time. I don’t see why people should read into it. Besides, I don’t have to explain myself to anyone. Being linked to co-stars is part of show biz and I have been linked to every one of them. Fortunately, my parents understand this. I would like to assert that I am not seeing anyone right now,” she declares.
All said and done, the question is, will this on screen pair get paired for life? Well, your guess is as good as ours.
