After the huge success of Ram Charan Teja’s ‘Magadheera’, all eyes were on his next film ‘Orange’ which starred the youngster with the gorgeous Genelia D’Souza. However, the film didn’t meet expectations and fell flat at the box office. The failure of the movie sounded an alarm bell for Ram Charan’s father, megastar
Chiranjeevi. Call it just sheer disappointment, concern or insecurity...
Chiru seems to be on a mission to ensure that his son signs the right projects and delivers nothing but blockbusters at the box office.
However, the superstar’s ever increasing involvement in Ram Charan’s film projects is not a practice that all filmmakers will welcome. Buzz is that the young superstar’s film Merupu is likely to be shelved. Reason: Daddy dearest is not happy with the humungous budget the film’s director Dharani wants to shoot at.
News is that Chiranjeevi has warned the director to either reduce the budget or drop the project and that’s where the filmmaker was put off as he feels the film Merupu which is a mass entertainer, needs to have a large budget to do justice to the subject. Now, with the clashing of Chiranjeevi and director Dharani’s stands, the ambitious project starring Ram Charan seems well on the way of getting shelved.
We wonder how far Chiranjeevi’s over protective nature and interference in Ram Charan Teja’s project will help the youngster. We only hope that all this fatherly protection around him doesn’t make Ram Charan forbidden for filmmakers.
