Charmme Kaur, who made her Bollywood debut with Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap, is already a veteran! After all, she has starred in over 50 South Indian films and has been working for the last 10 years. However, she wanted the best when it came to her Bollywood debut and it seems she has got what she wanted. After all, her performance in the film is being widely talked about.
And Charmme, who played who played a very childish and tomboyish girl in the film, is still in awe of sharing screen space with Amitabh Bachchan. “I am still very young, just 23 years old. I wanted that my debut Hindi film should be a grand one. And when there is
Amitabh Bachchan as the main lead, then you are sure that the entire country would watch the film at least once! The character I played is very much like my real self and compliments have been pouring in from all quarters. The mere presence of Bachchan sir draws the crowd to theatres and that way, it’s like an easy way out for any debutant!”
She adds, “Bachchan sir is just amazing and probably the most humble superstar that I have seen. When he came to the sets in the morning, he would greet everyone individually. And when the day’s shoot would get over and if I wasn’t around, he would come looking for me or call me to say bye. He has respect for everyone in his heart.”
So are we going to see her doing more Hindi films henceforth? “I am in talks with a few producers but things will take a while. Nothing happens overnight in Bollywood. If I get good projects, I will certainly do them.” she says.
