Boss, no comment!

Sandalwood’s Challenging Star Darshan has now sidelined Boss in favour of his other film, Shaurya, which releases in July.....
Boss, no comment!
Simple, shy and modest about his achievements. That’s Darshan, who was mobbed by his fans in Mysore, where he showed up for the muhurat of his latest film, Prince. “It’s always a pleasure to see fans throng to see you. My fans are everything to me and I’m acting for them,” he says.
And as much as Darshan has tried to avoid controversy, there is the delay of Boss to contend with.

The actor even postponed the releases of his other films so that they wouldn’t clash with Boss. “It’s a waste of time talking about Boss and Ramesh Yadav (the producer). I’ve decided not to burden my other producers now. Shaurya will see a July release, and will be followed by Sarathi,” he says.
What does Darshan have to say to the reports of Ramesh accusing him of withholding the negatives of Boss? “The unit members have kept the negatives as they haven’t received their payments, but it’s more newsworthy to say that I did it. I let that go, hoping they’d at least get paid,” he says.
Darshan is now looking forward to starting work on Prince, and will join the film’s unit today. The Challenging Star is teaming up again with Om Prakash for this film, after the duo delivered hits like Mandya and Yodha. “We share a good rapport. He’s the best when it comes to action films. He acknowledges you when you do a good job, which is what I need from a director,” he explains.
Darshan is also known for repeating his leading ladies — his Prince co-stars Jennifer Kotwal and Nikitha Thukral have worked with him on previous films. “Avara dodda guna maa (it’s their greatness). I tell my directors to make allowances for them as they come from other cities to work here. Sometimes, I even tell the directors to edit out shots that I’m not okay with, and these actresses don’t have a problem with that. That’s why I’m comfortable working with them,” he explains.
Darshan will simultaneously shoot for his other film, Chingari, to be directed by Harsha. “I chose Harsha because the cinematography in his films is impressive, which I saw in Geleya and Birugali. The combination of Harsha and cameraman Venu really works,” he says. And, of course, the top cop role he plays in Chingari appeals to him greatly. “Harsha says that my eyes should do all the talking. I’m already on the job,” he signs off.
