South Indian actor Bala has now entered the art league by essaying a pivotal role in Sivaprasad's Sthalam. Sivaprasad who is known for his realistic approach to cinema has bagged many awards and accolades for his movies.Sthalam,a movie based on real life characters, will also see popular activist Kallen Pokkudan in a prominent role. The movie is based in the backdrop of kandal kadukal (mangrove forests). "I play the role of a survey officer who comes to survey the cultivated land of pokkan, played by Pokkudan. Later, I realise that the government was wrong and turns to his side."

Sthalam Bala is making an entry into parallel cinema and he says he is excited about the project. "It's a very different experience and I am thoroughly enjoying it."
"Be it commercial or parallel, cinema is an art. But it has different dimensions. As an artist, ideally I should try out everything." He has been involved with Mollywood for the past three years and has acted in more than 28 movies. "As an actor I was trained in Mollywood. This industry has given me the recognition as an actor," he says.
Bala is also waiting for a re-entry into Kollywood. "I do get a lot of offers from Tamil and Telugu. But I waiting for the right time." With a producer father and director brother in Kollywood, he can wait as long as he wants!
