Actors have a back-up plan
It is a world of glamour that these youngsters are living in. They have to struggle and the path ahead is unpredictable. But this new brigade of actors from the city have a plan to fall back on. Academics come first in their priority list.
“The world of glitz and glamour is full of uncertainties. I completed my post graduation so that I would not have to start from zero if acting did not click for me,” says actor Mrunal Dusanis, who graduated in fashion design and also holds a Masters degree in mass communication.

Others like Mrunal, who are aspiring to make a mark on the small and big screen, are sending out a strong message to those who wish to give acting a shot.
Calendar girl Saiyami Kher declined an offer from a big banner just to finish her studies. “Completing my degree was always a priority. I declined the offer twice because I didn’t think it wise to do anything before I was done with my degree. I am enrolled in a law course even now,” says Saiyami. We wonder how the pretty lady will sizzle the court room though! City lad Chinmay Udgirkar is also a law graduate. “Education boosts your confidence. Even if you choose a career in acting, you need education to gain confidence,” explains Chinmay. Sharmishtha Raut-Nipankar, who is Tai Sasubai in Uncha Majha Zoka, completed her MBA to “start her own business if acting didn’t work out for her.”
