Social activist Kallen Pokkudan will now essay a prominent role in director Sivaprasad's Sthalam. Pokkudan is known as the one man crusader for the Kandal kadukal (mangrove forests).
And Sthalamis made in the backdrop of mangrove forests.
"The movie is based on mangrove forests, my life and the developments around us," says Pokkudan. "I am an activist and acting in movies is not my cup of tea. However, I agreed to do this movie as this will bring to light certain social issues. I want to spread awareness about mangrove forests," says the 70-year-old activist. While Jothirmayi plays his daughter, Bala essays the role of a survey officer.
