A dream start for Janani Iyer

She’s polite, pretty and seems to hold greatpromise. And these traits of Janani Iyer’s haven’t gone unnoticed.That’s probably one reason why one of Tamil cinema’s most respecteddirectors, Bala, has chosen her to portray an important character in his nextfilm Avan Ivan, starring Vishal and Arya.The lady, who has beenmodelling for the last four years, begins by saying, “Well, I was doingcommercials (she has done about 150 commercials in all) when this opportunitycame my way. I have always been interested in acting but I was waiting for theright project to come my way to make my debut. So, when director Vijay (of PoiSolla Porom fame), who is like my guru and for whom I’ve done a lot ofcommercials, told me that Bala sir was looking for a new face for his nextproject and that I should give it a shot if I was interested, I decided toapply. I had to take a screen test and then, after a few days, I was chosen.That was how it all began.”The industry is already abuzz withexcitement at her debut as many consider her to be one of the few Tamil girlswho seem to have chosen Kollywood to make their mark.Needless tosay, the engineering graduate is delighted with the way the year has begun.“It’s not a good year.
