Talking at the function, Balu Mahendra said, A lot of realistic movies are being made in the recent past. I am happy that Vasanthabalan didnt go the commercial way and chose to make Angadi Theru in a pragmatic way. He didnt find it necessary to portray his actors as fair and rich people. He is also not running behind stars to do his movie. I hope the movie is a success both critically and at the box-office.
Director Thangar Bachan said, I am now doing a romantic film, but my interest always lies in portraying originality and practicality.
Na Muthukumar, who has penned the lyrics for the movie, said that he has written a song on poverty.
