On one hand, where Punjabi music and songs are facing the wrath of authorities for portraying vulgarity and women objectification, Gurjas Sindhu’s latest song ‘Zakhman Di Hadh’ is a take on domestic violence. Featuring Pooja Thakur, the song’s video is sure to make you shed a tear.
The song is based on a story of a suspicious husband and his wife. It shows how the husband keeps hitting his wife every time another man looks at her or comes even an inch closer. Though he apologises after hurting her, the brutality never stops. In fact, it reaches another level, when he leaves the house and locks his wife inside after snatching away her phone. The entire song is very gripping, but the climax is something that you just cannot miss.
Sung by Gurjas Sandhu, the song focuses on the plight of women who fall into the trap of such violence. At the same time, lyricist Harry Kahlon has done an amazing job in weaving a song on the respective notion.
