Bollywood fame Shamita Shetty has been known to cast her magic in a number of peppy tracks and with ‘Teri Maa’, she has made her way to the Punjabi music video industry as well. Sung by Dolly Sidhu and Roop Sidhu, the song is a fun-packed number, in which Shamita has been directed by none other than her own brother-in-law Raj Kundra.

This is the first ever professional collaboration of Raj Kundra and Shamita Shetty. And though it is the debut of the latter in the Punjabi world, Raj in the past has directed the video of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s single ‘Teri Yaad’. Talking about his recently directed video, Raj said, “It is widely believed that no one can love you in the same degree as your mother and there is this general perception that Indian men are Mama’s Boys. Our song ‘Teri Maa’ is a tongue-in-cheek take off from it where the girl is telling the boy that she loves him more than anyone else.”
Further, while commenting on the work and the vibrancy that Shamita has brought to the song with her dance moves, Raj added “She is a natural and a terrific dancer and a one-take actor”.
Coming to Shamita, as aforementioned, this is her first Punjabi song video, and the actress was really excited about it. Sharing her experience, she said, “It was a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to work with my brother in law. Since it was home turf, I was very comfortable. I heard the song and loved it and said yes to it immediately. The concept is very cute. In India we grow up with a belief that nobody can love you as much as your mother. So this song in a way plays around with that belief. It was too much fun to work on it, although I just got a day to rehearse for it.”
Penned by Jaani and composed by B Praak, enjoy the song here:
