Saachi Bindra on working with Shreya Ghosal: Being a part of this song with her honestly is so surreal - Exclusive

Saachi Bindra is all set to make her acting debut with Shreya Ghosal’s ‘Sohneya’. Releasing on February 6, the song also features Laqshay Kapoor. Now it is needless to say that Saachi is very elated about the project. We could feel her excitement when she sat for an interview with us, wherein she spilled the tea on her upcoming project, her journey so far, and a lot more.

She told us, “I’ve always dreamt of being an actor ever since I can remember. After graduating I straight started assisting in directing after which I did various acting workshops and classes. Simultaneously while training and working on my craft I started auditioning about 5-6 years ago. I’d been screen testing for a few projects with Dharma in the past year and Shauna happened to see one of them and called me in for a meeting for ‘Sohnneyaa’”

More excerpts from the interview are below

Working on 'Sohnneyaa'

“Honestly, it was the most comfortable and fun process! We rehearsed for about 3-4 weeks before actually getting into the shoot which I think made a lot of a difference too. The entire song was shot with so much ease and all of us on set were actually friends by the end of it. I feel a happy set really reflects on screen.”

Shreya Ghoshal has sung the track, as an actor how does it feel to have such an iconic singer be part of your debut project?

“Being a part of this song with her honestly is so surreal! I have grown up listening to her songs and seeing her singing for the biggest of actors in Bollywood and now for me almost feels like a dream. I feel so grateful and blessed to have her sing my first-ever song for me.”

How was the experience while working with Laqshay Kapoor?

“It was a lot of fun! From our rehearsals to our shoot, we had such an amazing time. We both really understand each other's working patterns and I think that worked really well for us! He was always open to my suggestions and vice versa. We also became great friends during the making of the video which I think helped us with our chemistry on screen too.”

Future projects

“I have been screen testing for a few projects. Can’t give away too many details though, hopefully, something is in the pipeline soon!”
