Comedian-actor Raju Srivastava breathed his last today. He was one of the comic artists who touched millions of lives with his performances and was known to make everyone laugh even in the toughest of times. Today, when he is not with us, the void created by his demise is eating everyone piece by piece. Everyone is recalling his best acts and his smiling face, as no one ever saw even the shadow of a frowning expression touching him.

“I remember watching him on television and laughing uncontrollably. Even during the lockdown, I remember watching his videos on YouTube to keep a light environment in the house. His jokes never crossed a line, he was in true sense a family entertainer,” said Tanya Sood.
Tanya Sood: I personally don't like labels because there's only one life and it has to be lived at its fullest - Exclusive

Tanya Sood made her debut in the world of singing with the song ‘Jogan Tere Ishq Di’. It is a track with an interesting storyline and a very melodious treatment. However, did you know that while shooting the track, four people fainted on the set? Also, do you know that Tanya’s singing talent was noticed by Harry Anand at a party? Well, many interesting things about this song and the singer came out when ETimes sat for an exclusive interview with Tanya Sood.

Excerpts are below:

“I was at a party in Delhi and I happened to be there at a friend's house. Mika and Harry Anand were also there. Mika was singing and he handed over the mic to me saying now let's hear your singing. That is where Harry Anand, my director, heard my voice and said that you could actually sing. So I said well I try, my husband was also there and one thing led to another, then Harry said why haven't you done anything about it till now.? So my husband said why not do something about it now. Then after 2 days Harry bhai called and said there's one song and it will suit your voice, will you be willing to sing it? I said I was not trained professionally so he said just listen to it, so he sent me just ‘Mukhda’ of the song. I heard it and it was pure goosebumps because the lyrics were so beautiful and ‘Rohani’. Also, it was different from the songs that are playing nowadays. After listening to it I called Harry and said send this whole song and I want to sing it, Harry said I only have the first paragraph, I will have to write it and we are going to do this. That is how it came about.”

"The shooting was done during Covid times. The studio was not safe so my husband said don't worry about the studio, the studio will come to you; within 3 hours these crew boys managed to set up a studio in my basement. It took us a day and we sang it.”

“This song is very special to me because I feel people mostly label women. They say that since you are married so you cannot do this, you are a mother you cannot do that, you are this much older it will not suit you. I personally don't like these labels because there's only one life and it has to be lived at its fullest. Covid also taught us that " ek zindagi ache se jeeyo".”

“Further, the song’s name is ‘Jogan Tere Ishq Di’, which also portrays a label that a woman would be dressed in a particular attire, but no I have been me only a business woman is the video, a dynamic and powerful woman with the soul of a Jogan or somebody who's very spiritual and you can work as well while having a spiritual soul, that's why it is very close to my heart.”

“It was about 48 degrees and when you see the song it's made very luxuriously and we managed to shoot it in just 17 hours straight, 4 people fainted on set due to heat it was so hot. And they all were making fun of me saying "Tanya Jogan ke kapdo mein ghoom rahi h inko kuch nahi ho raha hai aur poora staff faint ho raha hai" that was quite hilarious. It was fun shooting and the atmosphere was also much like home, everybody made me feel so comfortable and the storyline is also very beautiful.”

Further, the ‘Jogan Tere Ishq Di’ fame singer added, “It is still hard to process this news, and to be honest with you I would never have the stomach to see his last pictures. Even the thought of him lying on the death bed gives me chills down my spine. Nevertheless, the only thought that is giving me some peace is that I believe in my heart that right now he is in a better place.”
"We have lost someone special, someone, who was a constant source of joy and laughter; things the world needs desperately right now. He will be missed dearly," concluded Tanya Sood.
