It’s been over a week since legendary artist
Lata Mangeshkar passed away. People are still listening to her songs on loop, and finding it hard to express their grief in words. Perhaps that is why when Pallvi Gaba paid her last tribute to Lata Ji, she was overwhelmed with emotions.
“The moment I got to know about Lata Ji's demise, I was so heartbroken. We grew up listening to her songs every now and then and whatever I have learned today is only because of her lessons,” said Pallvi Gaba while talking to Etimes exclusively.
“She has left a legacy behind for young artists like me. Her songs will never get old, people will continue to listen to them and will keep learning from them,” added the singer.
“May her soul rest in peace. Her demise has to lead to the end of an era. Although I did not know her personally, this loss feels so personal. I, in my childhood, used to sing her songs. ‘Lag Ja Gale’, ‘O Sajna Barkha Bahar Aayi’, ‘Sharam Aati Hai Magar’ and many more songs were my favorite. I and my mother used to hum these songs. I feel so blessed to have listened to her songs and watched her live performances and taken lessons through them. What a legendary artist she was! May you rest in peace Lataji. Let every other artist follow your path.‘The melody queen’ will forever be with us in our hearts,” expressed Pallvi while concluding the conversation.
