On the one hand where people call the late singer
Sidhu Moose Wala a legend, and celebrate his songs as verses, on the other hand, we often see almost every music piece of the artist falling into controversy. Even his latest track, ' Vaar’, released on the occasion of Guru Purab, is attracting some flak. Reportedly, the song has hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community and the audience is demanding that the song must be taken down from the video streaming platforms.
The track ‘Vaar’ speaks highly of Sikh valor and tells the tale of Hari Singh Nalua. A part of the track’s lyrics includes mentions of Afghans, Mohammad and Khans. And thus, the song is being accused of defaming Muslim prophet Hazrat Mohammad.
The lyrics are:
“Afgana De Mana Vich Aidda Dar Siga, Afgana Ne Salwaran Paauniya
Shuru Kar Dittiyan Si, Ke Assi Aurtaan Laggage
Ohde Barchhe Muhre Diggde, Ki Muhammad Te Ki Khan Ae
Vairi Foot Foot Pichhe Sitt’da, Jadon Maarda Ik Nishaane”
Sidhu Moose Wala’s team or family has not yet reacted to the allegations.
‘Vaar’ is the second song that has been released after the death of Sidhu Moose Wala. Earlier, his song ‘SLY’ was released and then was taken down by the Government of India owing to some legal issues.
