Husn Purewal to collaborate with Gurlez Akhtar

for his next single. "This song is a

duet

with Gurlez and is also a beat number," says Husn adding that he is open to experimenting with diverse styles of singing. His previous singles, 'Pyar Ho Gya', 'Berozgaa'r and

'Chitta Suit'

were in different genres.
Speaking of his background and initiation in music, Husn says, "My dad was a singer, and he inspired me to take up the profession. I started singing in school and college and eventually turned professional." Husn, who is perhaps one of the few singers to release a beat track amid the pandemic, while most others are choosing romantic or sad genres, says he caters to the taste of audiences while selecting the genre. "We are famous today because of audiences. So, it's natural that we should listen to their choices and give them genres that they want to listen to, more than imposing our own styles on them," he says.
Speaking of the advent of most Punjabi singers into Bollywood and film playback, Husn admits, "Every singer aspires for Bollywood and other collaborations. But the end result depends on how audiences receive the artist."
Besides Gurlez, Husn has also collaborated with singer, lyricist and actor, Happy Raikoti. "This song is written by Happy phaji and is a romantic track. He is also doing a small part in the song in his voice," he says. Within a short time of his coming into the music industry, Husn has managed to collaborate with biggies like Gurlez and Happy Raikoti.
