Hailing from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, Hassrat is another young talent in the Punjabi music world. Recently, he treated his fans with his latest beautiful melody titled - 'Humdum Humnava', which has tugged at the heartstrings of the audience.

The tale of the name

We wanted to know the story behind Harpreet to Hassrat, and here's what the singer had to say. "There is nothing much to the story but when I started performing on stage my friends thought of giving me a stage name. 'Hassrat' means desire and I thought that was the best name at the moment as I had and have big dreams and desires to achieve."

Entering the world of music

"Having come from a small village and being the eldest son in the house without a father - I had to earn for my family and at that time Music was my passion and also I knew I was really good at it- Hence that fire in me made me come to Mumbai at the age of 17."

The story behind 'Humdum Humnava'

We (Mani Manjot, Harjinder Johal, and Navneet Jaura) were working on a few songs, and Mani bhaiji randomly shared the lyrics which he had freshly written (we often share our thoughts with each other). And I loved it but the tune came to mind after a few days and I recorded it and sent it to the team and obviously, everyone loved it and then started the real work. This song was not made with just our thoughts but of the entire team which includes people who are the best in the industry."

Upcoming projects

Hassrat has been known for both composing melodies and giving vocals to them. Thus, while ending the conversation, we asked him about his future projects. He told us,"there are many songs in line and we are waiting to bring out good music to the world."
