To breathe in the air which is filled with the essence of freedom is a blessing. However, the meaning of freedom may be different for different people, and what better day to know about it than today when India is celebrating its 75th Independence Day. Thus, we sat down with model-actress Naina Singh, who spilled beans on her definition of freedom, her fondest memory of independence day, and much more.

“We are celebrating 75 years of Independence but when we see within our country the questions still remain the same are we truly free? Freedom for me is an expression of living life on my own terms and don't have to take the pressure of people and their opinion about me. We will truly be free when women in our country feel safe to walk on the road alone and earn equally. We will be free when we will establish equality.”

“I would ask them about their personal experience and everything that has not been said till now. Although they were at war, we cannot deny that they might have had their own personal war that no one asked about. I would also tell them about our progress today. All good things to make them feel proud about their sacrifice.”

“I believe the feeling is mutual for every Indian. When I see our nation's flag the feeling of pride, to be an Indian just fills up. It's difficult to describe in words because certain feelings are hard to describe.”

“I remember going to school early morning. I would incorporate tri colour in ribbons or carry a small flag with me to school. My favorite memory is the epic dance we did to patriotic songs.”
