Exclusive Interview! “The stage was like a second home to me,” says pop-singer Lekka

The Punjabi music industry is one of the fastest-growing fields of creative arts. With every minute it attracts a new talent towards it, and one of the latest ones to board the Punjabi music bus is pop singer Lekka.
Lekka is a singer and songwriter who is all set to make her commercial debut with the Punjabi song ‘Kaabil-E-Tareef’ ft. Gurnazar Chattha.The song will be hitting the music charts tomorrow, but before that, the songsters sat for a cup of candid conversation with ETimes, wherein she talked about her musical journey as well as the track.

During our exclusive chat, we got to know that Lekka started learning singing at the young age of 4 years. Talking about it, she mentioned, “The credit goes to my parents. They have been very avid listeners of music. I participated in the local competition, I was always on the stage all the time.”
Considering that she was introduced to the stage at a very young age, she never felt butterflies in her stomach while performing. She told us, “The concept of stage fear never happened to me, it just felt like home. To be honest, the stage was like a second home to me.”
Further, in the conversation, Lekka also opened up about how she had to draw her own blueprint in order to get a commercial platform for her singing. “I always wanted to sing professionally, just didn’t know how to. There is no musician in my family; I belong to a family where people are into business. I had to figure out things on my own; I had to pave my way, had to put all the building blocks together piece by piece,” said the singer.

Coming to the song, Lekka disclosed that it is a beautiful love ballad that will tug the heartstrings in no time. “‘Kaabil-E-Tareef’ is an expression of love. It emotes all the feelings that one goes throw when he or she madly loves someone. The respect, the feeling of being lucky to have someone like him or her around, the feeling of knowing that the person in front of you is all you need, all such emotions have been expressed beautifully in the song,” concluded Lekka.
