Bhajjo Veero Ve: Amberdeep Singh and Simi Chahal starrer to release on December 14

Ambardeep Singh made his debut as the lead actor earlier this year with ‘Laung Laachi’, and before 2018 reaches its end, he is ready to make another cinematic appearance with the release of ‘Bhajjo Veero Ve’. Slated to make it to the box office on 14 December, the movie has been bankrolled by Krsna Gill. From the first poster look of the movie, it seems to showcase Punjab from the bygone era. At the same time, reportedly, the script will be packed with comedy.


Besides featuring in the lead, Amberdeep Singh holds the credit for direction and writing of the film. Simi Chahal will be seen sharing the screen space with Amberdeep in the movie. Nirmal Rishi and Hobby Dhaliwal will also be seen in pivotal roles.

Dulla Vaily: Get ready to witness the tussle between Guggu Gill and Yograj Singh

Another movie that will be making it to the list of 2018 released Punjabi films is ‘Dulla Vaily’. Directed by Devi Sharma, the movie is slated to release on 7th December. The poster of the same was released today and it featured two strong veteran actors Guggu Gill and Yograj Singh standing against one another. From the poster, the movie seems to be a revenge drama that might be offering a lot of action on the big screen.

Besides Guggu Gill and Yograj Singh, the movie will star Sarbjit Cheema, Avtar Gill, Muhammad Sadiq and Nitu Pandher. The movie will be marking the acting debut of Gurvar Cheema, son of Sarbjit Cheema. Malkit Bhuttar and Khushboo Sharma have written the film.

‘Son of Manjeet Singh’: The poster of Kapil Sharma’s first Punjabi production is out

Kapil Sharma who is a well-known face of television made his way into the field of production last year with Bollywood period drama ‘Firangi’. For his second production project, the artist turned towards Pollywood and announced ‘Son of Manjeet Singh’. The poster of the same has been released. Featuring the lead star Gurpreet Ghuggi carrying a young lad on his back, the poster shows a strong fatherly bond. The movie is slated to release on October 12.


Kapil Sharma has produced the movie along with Sumit Singh and it has been helmed by Vikram Grover. Along with Gurpreet Ghuggi, the movie features B.N. Sharma, Karamjit Anmol and Japji Khaira in important roles.

‘Jindari’: Poster of Dev Kharund’s next has been released

After the success of ‘Dakuan Da Munda’, Dev Kharund is ready to take the screen again with ‘Jindari’. The poster of the same has been released and it seems just like the last movie, his upcoming film will also portray him in an intense role. Besides acting, Dev has also worked on the script of the film, and it is slated to release this November. The exact date is yet to be revealed.


The poster features a caption in Punjabi, “Asi umeed te nahi, apni zidd te jeonde haan (we are alive not on hope but on our strong will)”. This somewhere hints that Dev is trying to bring a serious movie to the table.


Directed by Ashish Bhatia and the movie has been produced by GD Productions. Besides Dev Kharoud, the stellar cast of the movie includes Guggu Gill along with Victor Jhon, Drishti Grewal, Karan Dhaliwal, Deep Dhillon, Hobby Dhaliwal and a prominent name from Bollywood, Prem Chopra.

‘Parahuna’: Kulwinder Billa and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer to release early

Generally, we hear the news of release dates getting extended, but the scene is quite different for ‘Parahuna’. The Kulwinder Billa and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer was earlier slated to hit the box office on October 5, but according to the latest poster, the movie will be released on 28th September.


The movie is singer turn actor Kulwinder Billa’s second film after his debut in multistarrer ‘Subedar Joginder Singh’. On the other hand, it’s the first movie of the female lead Wamiqa Gabbi for the year 2018. Besides Kulwinder Billa and Wamiqa Gabbi, the cast of the movie includes Karamjit Anmol, Harby Sanga, Sardar Sohi, Hobby Dhaliwal, Anita Meet, Malkit Rouni, Nirmal Rishi, Rupinder Rupi, Gurpreet Bhangu, Prakash Gadu, Raj Dhaliwal, Akshita, Navdeep Kaler and Tarsem Paul.

‘Qismat': Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta to share the screen

‘Qismat’ was one of the most trending songs of 2017. Right from there the audience was craving to see Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta working together on a project. With ‘Qismat’ the movie, Sargun Mehta and Ammy Virk are pairing as the lead. The movie captures different hues of love. The trailer of the same is out and the duo is bringing a special charm to the screen. Written and directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, the movie is scheduled to release on 21st September.

‘Laatu’

Another movie that has made it to the list of Punjabi movies 2018 is ‘Laatu’. It is a period drama that revolves around the tale of an innocent guy trying to bring electricity to his village. The movie will have Gagan Kokri and Aditi Sharma in the lead. This is the debut movie of singer Gagan Kokri. Directed by Manav Shah, the movie is scheduled to release on 16th November.

‘Nankana’

After a sabbatical of four years, Gurdas Maan will once again mesmerise his fans with his cinematic presence in ‘Nankana’. It is a period movie with a scoop of family drama. Directed by Maan’s wife Manjeet Maan, the movie will be released on July 6. Also, Gurdas Maan’s son has donned the cap of assistant director for the film. Besides Gurdas Maan, the movie stars Kavita Kaushik and Anas Rashid.

‘Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan’

Slated to release on July 13, ‘Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan’ is the second production of Amit and Atul Bhalla after co-producing ‘Carry On Jatta 2’. The movie will star Binnu Dhillon and Kavita Kaushik as the main lead. This is the second time the two will be sharing the screen space together. Directed by Sameep Kang, the movie is a comedy-drama meant to tickle the funny bone of the audience. The same notion justifies the cast of the movie that includes BN Sharma, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Jaswinder Bhalla and Karamjeet Anmol.

‘Mr. & Mrs. 420 Returns’

Another sequel after ‘Carry On Jatta 2’, which will hit the screens in 2018 is ‘Mr. & Mrs. 420 Returns’. Featuring Ranjit Bawa, Jassie Gill, Jaswinder Bhalla, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol, Payal Rajput and Avantika Hundal, the movie is a laughter riot. It is the second installment of the 2014’s hysterical film ‘Mr. & Mrs. 420’. The movie is scheduled to hit the theatres on August 15, 2018.

‘Marriage Palace’

Scheduled to release on September 28, ‘Marriage Palace’ will serve as Sharry Mann’s first release of 2018. Along with Mann, the movie will feature Payal Rajput, Jaswinder Bhalla, BN Sharma, Sumit Gulati and Umang Sharma. Though not much about the movie has been revealed yet, the poster says that the story-line will have some quirkiness to it. ‘Afsar’

Bringing Nimrat Khaira and Tarsem Jassar together for the first time, ‘Afsar’ is one of the much-anticipated movies of 2018. Slated to release on October 5, the movie will also have a debut director Gulshan Singh. Details regarding the movie’s subject are still under the wraps, but since Tarsem is known to do movies of substance, the hopes are high regarding the content of the film.

‘Jatt V/S Ielts’

Written and directed by Devi Dutt, the movie ‘Jatt V/S Ielts’ is a story that almost every Punjabi is aware of. Featuring Ravneet Singh, the story is of a boy who for the sake of his eternal Canadian dream wants to learn English. He repeatedly appears for the exam to earn the required amount of bands; however, he doesn’t taste success any soon. Besides Ravneet, the movie has Gurpreet Ghuggi who is playing the IELTS teacher, comedian Khayali, playing one of the students and veteran actors like Anita Devgan and Hobby Dhaliwal. Slated to release on June 29, the movie also has Khushi Malhotra, playing the love interest of the lead actor.

‘Mar Gaye Oye Loko’

Marking the third production of Humble Motion Pictures, ‘Mar Gaye Oye Loko’ will be releasing on August 31, 2018. The lead actor of the movie, Gippy Grewal announced the movie on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, and the film’s shooting got wrapped up early in May. The makers have not yet revealed much about the movie, but with the star cast that includes Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, Jaswinder Bhalla, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol and Jaggi Singh.

‘Banjara The Truck Driver’

Good news for Babbu Maan fans! After a hiatus of four years, the artist is ready to hit the big screen again with his next ‘Banjara The Truck Driver’. Scheduled to release on September 14, the movie will have Babbu Maan playing a triple role. Set in three different eras, the film will feature Babbu Maan as Harmek Singh in 1947, as Nakshatra Gill in 1984 and as Binder Singh, in 2018. Besides Maan in the lead, the Mushtaq Pasha’s directorial will have Rana Ranbir, Malkit Rauni, Prakash Yadu, Gurpreet Bhangu, Shraddha Arya, Jia Mustafa and Sara Khatri.

‘Ranjha Refugee’

After giving two blockbusters of the year ‘Lavan Phere’ and ‘Subedar Joginder Singh’, Roshan Prince will hit the theatres third time with the release of ‘Ranjha Refugee’. Scheduled to be screened on October 26, 2018, the movie is a comedy-drama. Though the genre is clear, the plot around which the movie revolves is under wraps. Buckle your seatbelts as the beginning of June will be marked by a laughter ride with ‘Carry On Jatta 2’.

It is the sequel to 2012’s super hit comedy movie ‘Carry On Jatta’. The movie is expected to be a complete madness on the silver screen. Though most of the cast has been retained from the first movie, there are three new additions - Sonam Bajwa, Upasna Singh and Jyotii Sethi. Marking the directorial debut of actor and writer Rana Ranbir ‘Asees’ is slated to release on June 22, 2018.

According to Rana, the movie will touch a million of hearts as the story is very relatable to the common man. Rana Ranbir, Rupinder Rupi, Kuljinder Sidhu and Sardar Sohi will be seen playing the lead in the movie.

Featuring Neeru Bajwa and Amrit Maan in the lead, ‘Aate Di Chidi’ will showcase a hysterical take on some serious issues of Punjab. In this movie, for the first time, actor-singer Amrit Maan will play a positive role on the silver screen.

Even for director Happy Bhatti, the genre is new, as so far he has only been associated with some serious movies. With an amazing cast that includes, Neeru, Amrit, Gurpreet Ghuggi, BN Sharma, Anmol Verma, Karamjit Anmol, Harby Sangha and veteran actor Sardar Sohi, the movie will release on Dussehra, October 19, 2018.

Slated to release on April 6, ‘Subedar Joginder Singh’ is a biopic of Subedar Joginder Singh Sahnan, a Param Vir Chakra recipient, who along with his Sikh battalion of 21 men showed exemplary valor during the Sino-Indian war. The movie features Punjabi singer-actor Gippy Grewal in and as Subedar Joginder Singh. On the other hand, this will be the debut movie of Punjabi singer Kulwinder Billa. The movie has been in news prior to its release for all the good reasons, like the promising trailer and the grand music launch at the Times Square, New York. It seems the film has got great substance to form a grip on the audience.

'Golak Bugni Bank Te Batua'

Directed by Ksshitij Chaudhary, ‘Golak Bugni Bank Te Batua’ is from the genre of comedy-drama featuring Harish Verma and Simi Chahal in the lead. The trailer features a storyline that revolves around a young couple who flee away owing to the fire of rivalry between their families. Things were going as planned until Narendra Modi announces notebandi (demonetization). From there, the story takes a hysterical take on the recent economic reform. Also, just when you think that this is all the movie has got, the trailer shows the glimpse of Amrinder Gill and Aditi Sharma that adds an element of suspense. The suspense will only be revealed when the movie will hit the silver screens on April 13, 2018.

Releasing on April 20th, 2018, the movie showcases the tale of two brothers fighting hard to bring back the lost glory of the game of hockey. Supposedly, ‘Daana Paani’ is a period film revolving around some spiritual concepts. Staring Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk in the lead, it’s a biopic based on the life-changing journey of Harjeet Singh Tuli, India’s captain in the Men’s Hockey Junior World Cup 2016. It was under Singh’s captaincy that India won the trophy after the wait of 2 decades. Ammy Virk has worked really hard on his physique to get the perfect athletic look.
