Jind Mahi: Did Banita Sandhu and Diljit Dosanjh bond over fashion?

The ‘October’ fame actress Banita Sandhu made her debut in the Punjabi music industry with Diljit Dosanjh’s romantic song ‘Jind Mahi’. Talking about the song and the songster recently, Banita Sandhu reportedly said that she and Diljit are similar in some ways. If reports are to be believed, then the actress also added that Diljit Dosanjh is very fashionable, the way he styles himself impresses her and it’s fashion on which these two bond really well.

Spilling some more beans on the song, Banita Sandhu reportedly said that her management was contacted by songster’s team and since it was Diljit Dosanjh project, the actress just knew it was the right thing to do.

If you think that’s all Banita Sandhu had to say about Diljit Dosanjh, there’s actually more to it than what meets the eye. According to a TOI report, recently the actress was asked to point three differences between her ‘October’ co-star Varun Dhawan and her ‘Jind Mahi’ partner Diljit Dosanjh. While replying to the same, Banita Sandhu said that Diljit Dosanjh is more fashionable than Varun Dhawan, the latter one is a bigger troublemaker, and one obvious difference that the former one can sing and the ‘October’ fame can’t.

Punjabi music industry 2018: The newbies

Amid all the debates of Punjabi as a language losing its grip in the society, the growing popularity of Punjabi cinema and music industry begs to differ. On one hand, where Punjabi cinema is witnessing an era of biopics and serious feature films, Punjabi music industry is welcoming new singers. In facts, artists from different fields have also made their debut in Punjabi music. Read on to know about the newbies of Punjabi music industry in 2018:

3/7

Shirley Setia

Initially rose to fame as ‘Payjama Popster’, Shirley Setia is the cutest addition to Punjabi music world. With the release of ‘Koi Vi Nahi’, Shirley made her way into the industry. The song is a romantic track, which the female singer has done in collaboration with Gurnazar Chattha. Before making a Punjabi song debut, Shirley sang ‘Disco Disco’ for the Bollywood movie ‘A Gentleman’.

4/7

Badal

Talking of cute, up next on the list is Badal. The Haryana born singer-lyricist-composer started his musical career by doing YouTube covers. Least did he know that his covers would go so viral that he will end up getting his first official big break with none other than the phenomenal Dr. Zeus and Grammy winner Raja Kumari. Early this year, Badal made his grand entry with ‘Vamos’ and since then there’s no stopping for the guy. He then released his first single ‘Trip’, and just recently he presented his fans with a Punjabi-Spanish song ‘Puro Puro’. We wonder how many more are yet to come!

5/7

Maniesh Paul

The very famous face of television and Hindi film industry, Maniesh Paul also couldn’t help but fall for Punjabi music. His recent release ‘Munde Town De’ served as his ticket to the respective industry. The track is high on swag and has got everything to make it a chartbuster. The lyrics are catchy, the music is groovy and the video is such a visual treat; what else would have been better than this to start with?

6/7

Mandy Takhar

The beautiful Mandy Takhar, who took the Punjabi cinema by storm with her amazing back to back performances in movies like ‘Rabb Da Radio’, ‘Sardaar Ji’ and ‘Khido Khundi’, tried filling the shoes of a singer this year. Her debut song titled ‘Ladoo Rani’ is a perfect Punjabi dance track, which she made in collaboration with Dr. Zeus. Though this is the first time Mandy lent her vocals to a song, the final number seemed too perfect to be called as a work of a fresher. In no time the song ruled the charts.

7/7

Himanshi Khurana

Here’s another beautiful Punjabi kudi, who after slaying the internet with her looks and expressions, tried something new. Himanshi Khurana, who has done over 38 Punjabi music videos decided to turn the year 2018 more productive for herself and thus, released her debut Punjabi song as a singer. Titled ‘High Standard’, the song is a playlist staple. Blame it on the vocals or the mere presence of Himanshi, the song is both classy and sensual.
