After Punjabi singer
Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants, Bhartiya Janta Party on Sunday demanded an FIR to be lodged against Chief Minister
Bhagwant Mann over 'negligence of chief ministerial duties'.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, "We have been warning Punjab Government to pay attention to Punjab’s situation. I demand an FIR against Bhagwant Mann for negligence of his Chief Ministerial duties which has cost the life of Sidhu Moosewala.
Bhagwant Mann along with
Arvind Kejriwal should be booked."
On the other hand,
Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa demanded CM's resignation. He tweeted, "Murder of a promising youngster Sidhu Moosewala exposes law & order situation of Punjab. CM @BhagwantMann should immediately resign as he holds charge of the home department and an explanation is needed on what basis his security was withdrawn yesterday just a day before the attack."
The incident took place a day after his security was withdrawn by the Government among 424 others.
The singer had joined the Congress party in December last year to contest the Assembly polls in February 2022.
