Pollywood recap: 'Buhey Bariyan' to 'Gaddi Jaandi Ae Chalaangaan Maardi,' Punjabi movies that made headlines this week

This week was action-packed for Pollywood. On the one hand, one of the most popular names in Punjabi cinema announced his new film, on the other hand, a lot of filmmakers announced new release dates of their movies. And surprisingly, these new dates confirm that the cine-lovers will not have to wait longer to catch their loved film on the big screens. So here’s a brief on all the Punjabi movies that made headlines this week.

'Jine Lahore Ni Vekhya'

Gippy Grewal who is still enjoying the blockbuster success of his last outing 'Carry On Jatta 3,' took to his social media handle to share a piece of news about his other film. He announced his new film 'Jine Lahore Ni Vekhya' that stars him in the lead. Sharing the title poster of the movie, Gippy wrote that this movie is close to his heart, and its shoot will go on the floors in early 2024. The poster and the post also mentioned that the film will be directed by Vikas Vashisht. The rest of the details will also be shared soon enough.

'Buhey Bariyan'

Generally, we hear that a film's release date has been pushed forward due to unavoidable reasons; however, in Pollywood, some different trend is being seen. Neeru Bajwa starrer 'Buhey Bariyan,' which was initially scheduled to release on September 29, will now be released a little early and will be hitting the big screens on September 15. The actress took to her social media handle to share this news by unveiling the poster with the new release date. Further, directed by Uday Pratap Singh and written by Jagdeep Warring, the film also stars Rubina Bajwa, Nirmal Rishi, Jatinder Kaur, and many other popular names of Pollywood.

'Gaddi Jaandi Ae Chalaangaan Maardi'

The release date of Ammy Virk and Binnu Dhillon starrer 'Gaddi Jaandi Ae Chalaangaan Maardi' has also been changed. When the first poster look of the movie came out, the makers announced October 20 as the release date. However, this week with the same poster they announced the new release date of the movie. The film is arriving at the theatres sooner, and renewed date is September 28. Written by Naresh Kathooria, the film has been directed by Smeep Kang. Alongside Ammy Virk and Binnu Dhillon, the film also stars Jaswinder Bhalla, Maahi Sharma, B N Sharma, Hardip Gill, Honey Mattu, and more.

'Maujaan Hi Maujaan'

Another film whose release date changed this week is 'Maujaan Hi Maujaan.' However, unlike the others, this one is not coming to the theatres early. The film was initially slated to be released on September 8 but will now make it to the 70MM on October 20. However, the makers call it an entertainment express with Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, and Karamjit Anmol as the leads we believe that the film is worth the wait. Further, written by Vaibhav- Shreya, the movie has been directed by Smeep Kang.
