From concept to storyline to great content, Varun feels new-age Punjabi industry works on a great mix of several elements, and if someone’s saying that Punjabi films are revolving around a single genre, it’s completely wrong. “If Sajjan Singh Rangroot showed seriousness through the First World War,

had a great dose of comedy. The directors are staying abreast of the latest trends. I did Punjabi films some years ago (Yaaran Da Katchup in 2014 and Angrej in 2015) and I am yearning for a great script now.” Varun recently met some Punjabi directors and is listening to some scripts. Also, he’s become Diljit Dosanjh’s great buddy (both will be seen in Bollywood film, Arjun Patiala). “I share a Punjab connection with Diljit, so on the sets in Patiala it was pure comedy that went on.”
